16 year old dating advice
We have done nothing that could be considered even remotely sexual, and don't plan to unless we're married.
I want to support her to start thinking through some of this for herself, but whereas she used to have very good judgment, these days she's running on low self esteem and hormones and I believe would follow anybody home who told her she had beautiful eyes. I talked to her about birth control and safe sex and she clearly was not ready. She went to his house once or twice, all when parents were home. When she has been out later with others I often pick her up (the joys of cell phones! I guess when there is another boyfriend I will want to meet him also.
I think maybe the girl should wait a while before she starts going out with him to allow her time to focus on her GCSEs because her GCSEs will stay with her and the guy might not. If it's a 16 year old guy and a 23 year old girl, the general consensus will be "lad", "lucky *******", etc....
Also if they waited a few years then the age gap would seem to shrink so it wouldn't seem so like "OMG HE'S WAY TOO OLD FOR YOU". If it's a 16 year old girl and a 23 year old guy, the general consensus will be that he is "creepy" and clearly a "pedo" even though the girl is of legal age..

Go for someone your own age who has the emotional maturity and experience to deal with an adult relationship. So, I decided to post my problem here, and hope someone might be able to point out any laws there may be against dating, and if there are none, at least offer advice. That said, if they don't want you seeing him, they CAN (and sounds like they WILL) make your life - AND HIS - extremely miserable.
